CHILDREN TEACH CHILDREN
Children Teach Children — A New Model
of Responsibility and Contribution
Last year, for the very first time, Edutop launched a groundbreaking program called Children Teach Children — where children stepped into the role of teachers to help other children learn.
Because the purpose was deeper than just literacy. It was about instilling seriousness, responsibility, and commitment in the child who was taking on the role of a mentor. Each child was trained on how to teach, how to share their skills with patience and clarity, and how to value the act of giving.
This Year — A Stronger, Wider, More Impactful Version
Under the leadership of Moqheeta Mehboob, Edutop is now preparing to launch the second edition of the program — this time with a focused mission:
Fluent young English readers will dedicate their time to help children from underprivileged schools who are struggling to read.
-
The student-teachers will be carefully selected based on key criteria such as reading fluency, clarity of speech, patience, and commitment.
-
They will undergo training before teaching.
-
Many parents have already shown interest in enrolling their children as teachers — not for achievement, but for purpose.
Vision — Every Child a Learner, Every Child a Giver
This powerful initiative was led by Moqheeta Mehboob, an education strategist and community leader who firmly believes:
“Every child should be literate — and every child should contribute to the literacy of others.”
Her vision is not limited to academic progress. She sees a future where every child is both a learner and a giver, where privilege is shared, not just enjoyed, and where education becomes a chain of upliftment instead of a ladder climbed alone.
What’s Next?
With growing interest from parents and children alike, Children Teach Children is evolving into a long-term literacy mission. More student-teachers are registering, and more learners are waiting for support.
In this program:
-
Learners gain reading skills and confidence.
-
Teachers gain empathy, leadership, and a lifelong habit of service.
-
And Edutop will further motivate the learners to identify their own skills and share them with others — so that giving becomes a cycle.
One child reading is progress.
One child teaching another is transformation.

Is your child a confident reader? Let them become a teacher.
At Edutop, we believe leadership and empathy begin in childhood.
Our initiative “Children Teach Children” is now in its second round, and the response has been heartwarming!
What began with one passionate young reader — Fatima Farhan Syed, who has devoured countless books — has now blossomed into a movement of young reading mentors.
The Most Beautiful Outcome?
Parents themselves are stepping forward!
After our first announcement, so many parents said:
“My child would love to teach too!”
That’s not just volunteering —
that’s early leadership, compassion, and social responsibility taking root.

How the Children Teach Children Program Works
The Children Teach Children Reading Program pairs confident young readers with students from underprivileged backgrounds who struggle with reading.
-
Assessment & Grouping of Learners
Children from weaker backgrounds will first be assessed and placed into reading-level groups (Beginner, Slow Readers, Semi-Fluent, etc.) to ensure each group receives the right kind of support. -
Selection & Assessment of Student-Teachers
Children who wish to teach will also be assessed beforehand to ensure they read fluently, clearly, and confidently.
This is important because:-
We must ensure correct role modelling — learners will copy pronunciation, speed, and expression directly from their teacher.
-
Only responsible and patient students should take up the teaching role.
-
Teaching children from underserved backgrounds comes with unique challenges such as poor internet, low technology understanding, irregular attendance, or communication gaps — so our teachers must be emotionally prepared and consistent.
-
-
Class Setup & Platform
All sessions will be conducted online via the Sonacove platform.
Every teacher must register on Sonacove, and all classes will strictly take place through it. -
Session Structure
-
A common fixed time slot will be allotted for all sessions.
-
Each student-teacher will conduct sessions for 30 working days.
-
The primary goal is to improve reading flow and confidence — not to conduct a full English grammar or language class.
-
Learners will naturally pick up some spoken English and correct pronunciation by listening and repeating, but fluency in reading is the core focus.
-
-
Teacher Evaluation
Student-teachers will also be monitored and guided throughout the process to help them improve their teaching style, patience, clarity, and classroom handling.
