  Children Teach Children — A New Model  of Responsibility  and Contribution Last year, for the very first time,  Edutop launched a groundbreaking program called  Children Teach Children  — where children stepped into the role of teachers to help other children learn. What made this initiative unique was that  the young teachers themselves  paid  to participate. Why would a teacher pay to teach? Because the purpose was deeper than just literacy. It was about  instilling seriousness, responsibility, and commitment  in the child who was taking on the role of a mentor. Decades have passed, but I still remember a particular incident. I must have been no more than five or six years old. I remember a sunny morning, the assembly, the stage, the teachers — and the shame. I don’t remember the reason or the lesson taught that day, but I distinctly remember the stares of more than a thousand students and around a hundred teachers. A few of us were made to stand on the stage as a form of punishment. I also remember, somewhere around the same age, walking home from school in tears.    Children Teach Children – Program Report An Edutop Summer Initiative | May 1st – 31st, 2025 Overview: The Children Teach Children program was launched as a unique summer initiative by Edutop , aimed at making learning more engaging, meaningful, and peer-driven. Unlike conventional models where children receive help from adults, this program flipped the script— children became teachers to fellow children . The idea, though unconventional, was met with surprising enthusiasm and success. Program Concept: The program welcomed all school-going children to participate as either teachers or learners .
